Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her show business career from a young age. She played lead roles in dramas on television as young as 16 years old. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. Another Oscar nominees featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in numerous notable projects both nationally and internationally. They include her work on the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. Additionally, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
