Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best known for her roles in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington in Ohio and moved with her family in Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main character for two seasons and also won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. The show ended in 2005 and Grace would like to be on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. The role she plays is Faith as a girl who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the eye from Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's the daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her brother in Donnie Darko, a popular cult movie. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
